The Satisfeito movement seeks to contribute to the fight against childhood malnutrition and to reduce food waste. It does so by involving restaurants, consumers and organizations that work with the food safety of children in Brazil and worldwide.
Launched in 2012, Satisfeito is founded on a simple idea: that the food that is normally left on a plate, in a restaurant, may be spared and this economy can be passed onto those who need it. The way it works is quite simple: participating restaurants offer their dishes in smaller versions, roughly two thirds of their normal size. When a consumer chooses this option on the menu, he pays the same price as the original version, but the restaurant’s economies are destined to help fight malnutrition.
